REECE COLE, the Brentford midfielder currently on loan at Partick Thistle, has extended his loan deal at the Maryhill club until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old's loan was set to expire but Cole will now remain at Firhill until the end of the campaign after becoming a key player in Ian McCall's side.

Cole told the club’s website: “I’m delighted to be staying here until the end of the season and seeing where we can go between now and the summer.

“Around the club, it’s a very friendly environment and it’s a family club. I was welcomed through the door straight away and especially with the new gaffer, I’m progressing well and I feel that this is the best place to further my career and get my name about even more.

“I love playing alongside Banzo [Stuart Bannigan], he’s an amazing player. On the ball and off the ball, his work rate is always there and the gaffer always uses him as an example in training. We’ve got a good partnership and you can see over the last few games that we’ve been doing well.

“After scoring a late winner against Queen of the South and running over to the fans, that was when I made my mind up that I would be staying."
