CELTIC striker Leigh Griffiths has offered his advice on mental health to one of the club's supporters after she reached out on social media to contact him.

The 29-year-old was tagged in a Twitter post by a fan with the username KirstenMcCoy67, who opened up about her five-year long battle with depression.

In her original post, Kirsten said that she had struggled with her mental health for years and had lost friends as a result.

She added that watching her team helped to push her forward and that Griffiths' own off-field issues were a source of inspiration for her.

The Scotland internationalist has now responded to the message offering words of encouragement and said that he would happily talk to Kirsten if she wanted some advice.

Griffiths wrote: "Never be afraid to speak out. If you’ve lost your friends because of this, they weren’t friends in the first place.

"If you ever need advice, please don’t hesitate to ask me. YNWA"
