RANGERS target Kristiyan Malinov is reportedly being targeted by La Liga side Celta Vigo.

The CSKA Sofia midfielder has been capped 13 times by his country and can play either in an attacking or defensive role in the middle of the park.

Steven Gerrard's side are just one of a number of top European clubs eyeing a move for the 26-year-old, but now according to reports in Spain, Celta Vigo have joined the chase.

With the the Bulgarian season now finished, Malinov is expected to leave his homeland this summer.

SBV Vitesse, VVV Venlo, K.V. Mechelen and Standard Liege have all been credited with in an interest, while top German and Turkish clubs are also keeping an eye on his availability.

We told previously how Malinov's agent confirmed Rangers' interest.

He said: “Yes there have been talks with Rangers regarding Kristiyan. Have Rangers sent an offer yet? No.

“We are in talks and there is an interest but deals can't be done through the night as there are many factors that we must take into consideration.

“It is too soon to say if a deal will happen between Kristiyan and Rangers. Kristiyan is privileged by the interest of Rangers but there are also other clubs who are interested."
