LEIGH GRIFFITHS MAY HAVE SOMETHING TO OFFER CELTIC YET

The striker only played for half an hour, and while he may be a little way from full match sharpness just yet, he showed plenty to suggest that he is far from a lost cause at Celtic.

Indeed, if you hadn’t known of his recent troubles, there was little to suggest that he was particularly far behind his teammates given the time of year, and he will be a little put out perhaps that Patryk Klimala poked his goalbound effort home after he produced a lovely bit of skill to get the ball over Hibs keeper Kevin Dabrowski.

With Klimala scoring another here and Albian Ajeti set to arrive on loan from West Ham, Griffiths showed that he won’t give up his place behind Odsonne Edouard in the striking pecking order without a fight.

ISAMAILA SORO GROWING IN STATURE

The midfielder has had to patient for a chance to impress at Celtic since arriving in the winter, and he may have to be again to trouble the starting line-up given the names in front of him in Neil Lennon’s midfield.

He showed here though that he possesses a good range of passing, a decent engine to get around the park and an ability to carry the ball forward too, suggesting he could be a useful squad player for the champions this term.

KARAMOKO DEMBELE COMING OF AGE

It feels as though there has been hype around the talented youngster for years, but even at the tender age of just 17, you can certainly see why there is great excitement around him.

Yes, he still has a lot of physical development to come, but his technical ability is unquestionable as he showed here as he grabbed his first senior goal.

He took his strike well, showing great composure before finishing past Dabrowski, and showed glimpses of his prodigious talent.

Still has a lot to learn, particularly on the defensive side of the game, but his attacking spark may prove valuable to Celtic at times across the season.
