Former Hearts striker Stephane Adam has launched a scathing attack on Scottish football, blasting higher-ups for their 'rotten incompetence' in turning our game into the 'joke of the summer'.
The Jambos and Partick Thistle were officially relegated earlier this afternoon when news broke that they had lost their arbitration case against the SPFL as the Scottish FA confirmed the ruling would stand. It had come after both clubs initially took the SPFL to court, only for a judge to rule that the SFA must take control of any decision.
A three-member panel opted in favour of the SPFL, meaning Dundee United, Raith Rovers and Cove Rangers could finally and officially plan for their promotions. But Adam took to social media to blast the decision and make claims that there is 'no solidarity' in our game. He also sniped that the SFA could be one reason why the Scottish national team have not succeeded to any significant level in a number of years.
if you were wondering why scottish football was declining at european level and why the national team have not qualified for a major competition for over 20 years you may have the beginning of an answer here ...

In a series of furious tweets, Adam said: "No surprises. Many people have asked me what my opinion is on the subject. I sincerely believe that Scottish football has been the attraction and the joke of the summer and this whole story will have shown 2 things:
"1- there is no solidarity between Scottish football clubs but only selfishness and contempt. 2- The high authorities of Scottish football are rotten and of rare incompetence. If you were wondering why Scottish football was declining at European level and why the national team have not qualified for a major competition for over 20 years you may have the beginning of an answer here".
Neil Doncaster today admitted he was 'absolutely delighted' the SPFL’s decision to end the season prematurely has been 'vindicated' by the arbitration panel.
Neither club will win any sort of compensation despite Hearts seeking £8million in losses and Thistle after £2million.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
