GREG DOCHERTY is closing in on a move to English League One side Hull City, with the Tigers and Rangers agreeing a fee of around £400,000 for the midfielder's services.

The former Scotland Under-21s internationalist spent Tuesday at London's Harley Street Hospital undergoing a medical and is expected to formally complete his move to the KCOM stadium on Thursday.

Docherty is expected to sign a three-year contract with the option of a fourth for Grant McCann's side, who were recently relegated to the third tier after finishing dead last in last season's Championship.

The former Accies player has struggled to make an impression in the Rangers first team since moving to Ibrox in 2018, and spent the second half of last season on loan at Hibernian.
