CEDRIC ITTEN reckons Rangers' style of play is perfect for his game as he looks to hit the goal trail at Ibrox.

The Swiss striker has yet to find the net for the Gers following his move from St Gallen.

But he has shown glimpses of what he will bring to Steven Gerrard's side as part of a new-look forward line.

Kemar Roofe and Ryan Kent were the goal heroes for Rangers against Kilmarnock at the weekend but Itten is settling in on and off the park just fine.

Itten said: "It has been very nice. I have had a warm welcome and everyone has helped me to have a good start.

"It is very exciting as Rangers is such a huge club with a lot of history and a lot of glory, so I am happy to be a part of it. This is the next step for me to play in a different country. It is a step for me to progress and get better, so for me it is the perfect step.

"We play offensive football here with a lot of crosses and that is what I like. We have very good players like James Tavernier and Borna Barisic with a lot of quality and a lot of good crosses. I am looking forward to hopefully getting on the end of the them."

Itten was handed the No. 11 jersey when he put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal with the Light Blues earlier this month.

And he is proud to be following in the footsteps of Ibrox legends with that number

"I chose to have it in my youth and it is a nice number," Itten told the Rangers matchday programme. "I know there have been some legends here with this number so I am happy to have it.

"I heard a lot about Brian Laudrup - h was an amazing player and a legend here. I hope I can do my best to also score and play well in the games."
