RANGERS PLAYER RATINGS
JON MCLAUGHLIN 7
Kept Allan McGregor out of the team for the second game running. Saved well from Marios Ogkmpoe and Shaun Want in the second-half and kept another clean sheet.
JAMES TAVERNIER 7
The right back showed good instincts to net the visitors’ second goal of the evening from close range.
FILIP HELANDER 6
The Swede retained his place in the starting line-up despite Leon Balogun being available. Has had more demanding games.
CONNOR GOLDSON 7
The centre back’s diagonal balls upfield were inch-perfect and led directly to the first goal. Booked for a late tackle on Andy Winter.
BORNA BARISIC 6
The Croatian left back was involved in the first goal. Always keen to overlap and complement his side’s attacks.
IANIS HAGI 6
Came back in for the injured Cedric Itten. Justified his selection by pouncing on a loose ball in the Hamilton box and netting the opener.
RYAN JACK 7
Did his chances of starting for Scotland this week no harm with an assured personal showing. Hit the post in the second-half.
STEVE DAVIS 7
Set up the opening goal after 15 minutes with a cross to Kemar Roofe. Displayed his quality throughout.
RYAN KENT 8
Showed exactly why Leeds United are so keen to secure his services. Instigated most of Rangers’ best attacking moves.
BRANDON BARKER 6
A bundle of energy. His decision making was questionable at times.
KEMAR ROOFE 6
The striker kept Alfredo Morelos out of the starting line-up. Hit the crossbar with a header before the opening goal. Sliced a shot wide after Kent had teed him up.
Substitutes
SCOTT ARFIELD 2
Replaced Hagi. Used the ball well.
GREG STEWART n/a
Came on for Roofe in injury-time.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
