David Marshall 7
Had almost nothing to do but stepped up to deny Zahavi in the shoot-out when it really mattered.
Liam Cooper 6
Filled in admirably in defence and staked a real claim for a regular starting berth.
Declan Gallagher 6
Another encouraging performance from the Motherwell centre-half. Acclimatising well to the demands of international football.
Scott McTominay 5
Looked a lot more solid at the back but should have done a lot better with his first-half header.
Andrew Robertson 7
Played lots of dangerous balls in towards Dykes and was a constant threat down the left.
Stephen O’Donnell 5
Quiet night going forward and some questions over his positioning at the back. Looked a little lax once or twice.
Ryan Jack 6
Went about his business in a solid but unspectacular fashion.
Callum McGregor 6
Average outing from the Celtic stalwart. Had a fair bit of the ball and didn’t do much wrong but didn’t impose himself enough either.
John McGinn 7
Another bombastic performance from the tireless midfielder. Provided plenty of industry in the middle and linked well with the strikers.
Oli McBurnie 5
Worked his socks off but contributed little in attack. Ultimately posed little threat.
Lyndon Dykes 6
Another who put a shift in and was a useful target man up top. Let down by a lack of service.
Substitutes:
Lawrence Shankland (for McBurnie, 73) 3
Linked well with the midfield and worked hard during his brief cameo.
Ryan Fraser (for Jack, 83) 4
Was lively and direct with the ball.
Callum Paterson (for Dykes, 91) 2
Snatched at his one sight of goal.
Kenny McLean (for O’Donnell, 113) N/A
Not enough time to make impact. Scored the winning penalty.
ISRAEL
Ofir Marciano 6
Had almost nothing to do for the whole game.
Eitan Tibi 6
Confident with the ball at his feet and strong in the tackle.
Nir Bitton 6
Solid outing from the Celtic man. Calm in possession and defensively assertive.
Sheran Yeini 6
Kept things quiet in his area of the park and gave little away.
Hatem Elhamed 6
The natural defender was playing in at left wing-back but slotted in nicely. Combined well with Solomon down the flank.
Eliazer Dasa 8
Very lively down the right. Whether his side were attacking or defending, he was always involved.
Eyal Golasa 6
A few neat touches and the odd flashy pass but struggled to find space in a congested midfield.
Manor Solomon 7
Classy performance from the midfielder. Made clever runs throughout and was tidy with the ball at his feet.
Bebras Natcho 6
Booked early on for a rash challenge on McGinn and had to be careful after that.
Munas Dabbur 5
Quiet night for the Hoffenheim forward. Wasn’t involved enough in the final third.
Eran Zahavi 6
Looked dangerous throughout but wasn’t given enough service.
Substitutes:
Mohammed Abu Fani (for Natcho, 69) 3
Made a few nice touches on his senior international debut.
Shon Weissman (for Dabbur 83) 2
Missed a glorious chance late on.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
