HAMILTON PLAYER RATINGS
KYLE GOURLAY 8
Saved superbly from Leigh Griffiths four times in the first-half. Could do little about either of the Celtic goals.
SCOTT MCMANN 5
Had his work cut out containing Jeremie Frimpong down his flank. Often came off second best.
BRIAN EASTON 7
Slid in to deny Griffiths in the first-half. Read the game brilliantly throughout.
AARON MARTIN 5
Gave away a free-kick just outside his penalty box in the first-half with a needless foul on David Turnbull. Gifted Celtic a penalty with a foul on Odsonne Edouard early in the second.
LEE HODSON 5
The former Rangers man struggled to shackle Greg Taylor and offered little going forward.
JAMIE HAMILTON 6
Worked hard to close down the two man Celtic strikeforce from kick-off to the final whistle.
HAKEEM ODOFFIN 6
Sat deep in front of the Hamilton defence and broke up play.
BEN STIRLING 6
The midfielder assisted his side’s defensive endeavours and used the ball well whenever he received it.
CHARLIE TRAFFORD 6
Turned a Ryan Christie shot over in the first-half. Cut out through balls to the Celtic front two.
DAVD MOYO 6
Suffered a knock at a David Turnbull corner in the first-half. Applied pressure to the Celtic defence whenever they had the ball.
ANDREW WINTER 6
Fouled by Nir Bitton after intercepting a Kris Ajer pass. Went close from 25 yards out just before half-time. Received limited service from his team mates.
SUBSTITUTES
TUNDE OWOLBI (for Winter, 69) 3
Injected energy into Hamilton’s forward play.
REEGAN MIMNAUGH (for Stirling, 82) 2
Hardly involved.
KYLE MUNRO (for Moyo, 90) 2
On at the death.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
