IT WAS 20 years ago this year that Celtic swept to the treble.

A key player in the triumph was Henrik Larsson, legendary Hoops star still held in the highest regard by fans past and present.

The Swedish striker had joined Celtic from Feyenoord in 1997, and he left seven years later, heralded as one of the club’s greatest ever players.

Henrik was sidelined after a leg break in 1999 but when he came back to Parkhead, he was on top form.

The mighty striker helped Martin O’Neill’s team dominate the 2000/01 season, scoring 53 goals in that campaign, including 35 in the league, a tally which saw him win the Golden Shoe Award as Europe’s top goalscorer.

Overall, Henrik clocked up an impressive 315 appearances for Celtic and he scored an incredible 242 goals.

He has also gone down in club history for scoring one of the goals in the 3-0 League Cup final victory over Dundee United, helping Celtic win their first league title in a decade and stopping their arch rivals Rangers from winning ‘ten in a row’.
