Norwich City star Kenny McLean has said he is in the midst of his best year in football.
The former Aberdeen man has played a vital part in the Canaries promotion back to the Premier League this season.
That success has just been one of many highlights of the last eight months.
Speaking to The Lancashire Sport the Scotland International said: "It’s been an excellent year and this year has been the highlight of my career.
"It started off with signing a new contract, then [qualifying for] the Euros and now promotion, so it’s been good.
"I think I’ll look back on it more in a couple of years as being really successful."
One thing McLean claims has put a slight dampener on this season has been the lack of supporters inside stadiums.
He continued: "Right now, it still seems a wee bit - not flat - but not as good as it could have been with the fans in.
“If the fans were in this season with what’s happened to me personally on the pitch, with the Euros and winning the league it would’ve been another level, but what we’ve done is still special.
It is not the first time the Cambuslang man has tasted success with Norwich, as he has already been part of a promotion success in the 2018/19 season.
However, he feels this one is even more sweeter.
“I feel I’ve really contributed more this time than I did a couple of years ago, when I missed a big part of the season due to injury when we got promoted,” he said.

“So it’s been a good season and I’ve felt good within that.
”We are still building as a club. We’ve got a really good group here, hopefully we can keep everyone together and maybe add to that in the summer and we’ll see how it goes in the Premier League.”
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
