Kilmarnock face a disciplinary hearing after including an ineligible player in their squad for last weekend's win over East Kilbride.

Killie welcomed Daniel Armstrong into their matchday list of players during their trip to K-Park for their Premier Sports Cup clash on Saturday.

But now it has been revealed the 23-year-old had been subject of a one-match suspension in the competition.

The SPFL have confirmed they will investigate the Rugby Park outfit's mistake and take action.

Armstrong played just under 20 minutes of the game having come on in the 72nd minute of Killie's 2-0 win in Group G.

A disciplinary hearing has been set up for July 15.
