Hearts have confirmed they will have no fans inside Celtic Park this weekend despite Glasgow city council confirming the Hoops can host a full house.

The Jambos released a statement explaining why tickets would not go on sale for their travelling support.

Celtic expect 60,000 fans inside the ground on Thursday evening for their second-leg tie against Jablonec in Europa League qualifying, but they will not allow any Jambos inside Parkhead.

And Hearts revealed the decision taken by their Premier Sports Cup opponents is to ensure there is still space for a red zone to keep both players and punters safe.

A short statement read: "Celtic have confirmed that no tickets will be issued to away supporters this Sunday.

"This is due to the need for sections of the stadium to remain sterile in order to maintain a Red Zone, resulting in affected home supporters being moved to other areas of the ground."

Celts will be desperate to exact revenge on their foes after they suffered an opening day Premiership defeat at Tynecastle.
