RANGERS RATINGS

ALLAN MCGREGOR 6

Had no chance with either of Malmo’s goals but hardly tested otherwise. Commanded his box well.

JAMES TAVERNIER 6

A decent defensive shift from the skipper and also bombed forward on plenty of occasions. Provided a number of pinpoint deliveries from the right flank.

CONNOR GOLDSON 5

Started the game well when Rangers were on the front foot but looked nervous in the second period. Conned the referee into Bonke Innocent’s red card.

LEON BALOGUN 5

Replaced Filip Helander in the starting line-up but failed to take his chance. Shocking defending for Colak’s second goal and didn’t look overly convincing at the first either.

BORNA BARISIC 6

Slightly off the pace defensively but always looked for the overlap on the left. Played a key role in creating space for Kent in the build up to the opening goal.

STEVEN DAVIS 6

Never got on the ball as much as he would have liked in midfield. Struggled to make a huge impact on proceedings, but can’t be faulted for effort.

SCOTT ARFIELD 6

Battled well in midfield and provided a composed head when on the ball. No real impact in the final third though.

JOE ARIBO 6

Neat and tidy in possession. Showed plenty energy in the middle of the park and always looked forward for a pass.

SCOTT WRIGHT 6

Was given the nod by his manager and performed well in front of a full Ibrox for the first time. Final ball could have been better, but he did bring a spark to Rangers’ attack.

RYAN KENT 7

Looked bright in possession and linked up well with Morelos on the attack. Great delivery into the striker for the opening goal. A couple of wasted efforts in the second half that sailed over the bar.

ALFREDO MORELOS 8

Totally unplayable in the first half. Led the line expertly and topped his display off with a goal that hauled his team back into the game. Drifted out of things in the second half but still looked a threat.

SUBS

FASHION SAKALA (FOR WRIGHT, 63) 5

Looked tricky and sharp when introduced from the bench. His pace caused Malmo problems but ultimately failed to find the back of the net.

IANIS HAGI (FOR ARFIELD, 70) 5

Made an impressive impact when subbed on. Always looked to get on the ball and create as Rangers searched for a route back into the game.
