CELTIC and Rangers are in the hat for the draw for the group stages of the Europa League and will find out who their opponents are once the ceremony takes place in Nyon later today.

A 3-2 aggregate defeat of AZ was enough for Ange Postecoglou's men to progress from the play-off round and the Ibrox side squeezed past Alashkert with a 1-0 win.

But with both of Scotland's representatives in Pot 2 for today's draw, there are some big hitters that could potentially lie in wait.

These are the seedings for the draw:

Pot 1

Lyon
Napoli
Bayer Leverkusen
Dinamo Zagreb
Lazio
Olympiakos
Monaco
Braga

Pot 2

Celtic
Eintracht Frankfurt
Red Star Belgrade
Leicester City
Rangers
Lokomotiv Moscow
Genk
PSV

Pot 3

Marseille
Ludogorets
West Ham United
Real Sociedad
Real Betis
Fenerbache
Spartak Moscow
Sparta Prague

Pot 4

Rapid Vienna
Galatasaray
Legia Warsaw
Midtjylland
Ferencvaros
Sturm Graz
Brondby
Antwerp

Every group has one team from each pot but there will be some teams that Celtic and Rangers will be keen to avoid. The likes of Lyon, Napoli and Bayer Leverkusen are the big-hitters in Pot 1.

In Pot 3, Ligue 1's Marseille and Spanish pair Real Sociedad and Real Betis are the teams to avoid, while the likes of West Ham and Fenerbache would provide tricky tests.

Galatasaray, Midtjylland - who have already knocked Celtic out the Champions League this season - and Rapid Vienna represent the strongest sides in Pot 4.

A difficult draw for either half of the Old Firm could see them in a group alongside Napoli, Real Betis and Galatasaray, for example.

A more accomodating group, however, could be drawn. It's possible that Celtic or Rangers could be drawn alongside Dinamo Zagreb, Ludogorets and Brondby.

The draw for the group stages of the Europa League takes place in Nyon, Switzerland today at 11am.
