ROSS COUNTY say it's frustrating that Rangers have pulled their ticket allocation for this weekend's match at Ibrox.

The Staggies were due to be handed the usual 900 briefs for the away corner at the stadium.

However, the Premiership's bottom club requested that the coronavirus 'red zone' be reinstated for the match.

The club say they want to keep a safe distance from their players and staff and the home fans.

The reason for this is due to a "small number" of the County squad who are yet fully vaccinated.

As a result though, Rangers have moved this section of season ticket holders back over to where away fans would usually be situated - as was the case for every league game this term at Ibrox until Hearts came to town.

Addressing the issue, the Highland club have expressed their frustrations with the situation.

A statement reads: "Ahead of this weekend’s match with Rangers we can confirm there will be no away ticket allocation.

"Due to our club still requiring a red zone to maintain safe social distancing and to best protect our squad, we have been informed by Rangers that they cannot provide an away allocation as they need to relocate their fans who ordinarily would have been seated in our red zone area.

"We know this will be frustrating for our supporters, as it is to our club that we cannot have you with us.

"At present, with a small number of our players yet to be double vaccinated we feel it is essential to maintain a red zone to maintain the high standards we have set in handing COVID-19 over the last 18 months."
