COLIN STEIN reckons Rangers fans will see the best of Fashion Sakala now that he has settled in Scotland and won over the Ibrox crowd.
The Zambian hit a hat-trick in the 6-1 win over Motherwell last month and then produced another impressive showing as Ross County were beaten 4-1 at Ibrox.
Sakala has taken time to get up to speed following his move from Oostende in the summer but is now competing with Alfredo Morelos and Kemar Roofe for a starting spot.
And Barcelona Bear Stein is confident the 24-year-old will go from strength to strength as he looks to feed off the positive vibes from supporters this season.
Stein said: "I was down in London for the Motherwell game and saw it on a phone. If he gets the ammunition, he will score goals.
"You have got to get someone to feed you the ball. Morelos is a good player, but they scored six goals against Motherwell and he didn’t get one.
"Sakala looks a bit light but he is very quick and scoring those goals will do him the world of good. That is what you feed on, that confidence.
"If you are playing well and the ball comes across, you will hit it first time. If you are not, you will take a touch and the chance is gone. A lot of it is to do with confidence because they have got the ability.
"I think he would have found it difficult with the travelling. You have got to settle into a team.
"I was fortunate when I came to Rangers that I scored goals early and got the supporters on my side. If you get the supporters backing you, it is brilliant.
"It is fantastic [to have the support of the fans]. Once they are on your side, your confidence is sky high.
"That then allows you to keep playing well and to score more goals. It is brilliant."
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
