CELTIC RATINGS

SCOTT BAIN 6

Dealt with a couple of first half attempts from Real Betis but should have probably held them instead of parrying away. Unlucky with their first goal of the evening.

OSAZE URHOGHIDE 7

Looked solid defensively and a threat on the attack. Fired a number of dangerous balls into the box when he ventured forward.

NIR BITTON 7

The stand in captain was utilised at centre back and was reasonably solid throughout. Almost scored from a corner on the hour mark.

STEPHEN WELSH 8

A fine glancing header for the opening goal and an accomplished defensive display all round. Bounced back from injury well and will give Ange Postecoglou a selection headache at centre back.

LIAM SCALES 7

Built on his cameo appearance on Sunday where he grabbed his first Celtic goal against Dundee United. A disciplined defensive display and also got forward when called upon.

ISMAILA SORO 6

Booked for a flailing arm and should have fed Kyogo with a better pass in the first period. A decent display in the middle of the park without making a huge impact on the game.

JAMES MCCARTHY 5

Struggled to get his foot on the ball in midfield. Looked to pick up an injury just after the hour mark but played on until full-time. The minutes in the tank could help him going forward.

LIEL ABADA 7

Pinpoint delivery from a corner for the opener. Looked sharp and always willing to take on his man. Endless running meant he went down with cramp late on.

LIAM SHAW 8

A very physical display from the youngster. Put himself about and looked determined to put his stamp on the game. Will surely have impressed his manager.

ADAM MONTGOMERY 6

The wide man put in a shift on the left flank and provided plenty energy throughout. His final ball was lacking at times, though.

ALBIAN AJETI 4

A rare start for the striker and his evening didn’t end how he would have envisaged. Forced off just before the half hour mark with what looked like a hamstring injury.

SUBS

KYOGO FURUHASHI (FOR AJETI, 28) 5

A gamble to bring him on with so many important games coming up. Led the line well but he limped off with a hamstring problem.

DAVID TURNBULL (FOR SORO, 65) 5

Slotted home his penalty to give Celtic the three points.

CALLUM MCGREGOR (FOR SCALES, 65) 5

Kept Celtic ticking in the final stages from the middle of the park.

MIKEY JOHNSTON (FOR MONTGOMERY, 65) 5

Provided an attacking threat late on at Parkhead. Guilty of giving the ball away for Betis’ second goal of the evening.

EWAN HENDERSON (FOR KYOGO, 72) 5

Took his goal well with his first touch of the game.
