ANGE POSTECOGLOU has admitted that Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi remains at least a couple of weeks away from a return to the starting line-up.

Speaking ahead of his side's Premiership fixture with Hibernian, the Greek-Australian explained that his star striker remains some way short of full fitness.

Supporters are desparate for Kyogo to get the all-clear for the derby against Rangers on February 2 and Postecoglou admitted it will be touch and go for the fans' favourite.

"It's fair to say he hasn't recovered from the injury," the Celtic manager told BBC Radio Scotland.

"We're still getting some advice on it. He's not likely to feature in the next couple of weeks at least, it could be longer.

"In terms of definite time frames we're just getting some more info and hopefully during the week we'll know a little bit more."

When asked if the striker would be available for the top-of-the-table clash with Rangers, Postecoglou replied: "Mate, you're talking about a game that's four or five away from us.

"Anything past tonight is no real concern to me.

"From our perspective it's really important we start the second half of the year at a good level, a good intensity, set down a marker tonight and go from there."
