JOHNNY KENNY has revealed he's gone through a "rough patch" with injury and self-isolation after sealing a move to Celtic.
The striker, 18, became Ange Postecoglou's fourth January transfer signing after agreeing a five-year deal at Parkhead.
But his switch from Sligo Rovers was halted by injury and having to self-isolate after being identified as a close contact after a driver's positive Covid test.
Despite his difficult start to life at Celtic, Kenny told The Sligo Way podcast he's loving his time in Glasgow.
Discussing his start at Celtic, Kenny said: “I had a rough patch because I’m out injured now for a few weeks and I’m just out of isolation.
"I’m on the hunt for an apartment now. I love it over here but I have to get an apartment now to settle down.
“My driver that brings to me to training had Covid so I had to isolate for 10 days.”
Kenny went on to hail the "unreal job" Postecoglou has done at Celtic since his arrival in the summer as he insisted "everyone's behind" the Greek-Australian boss.
On the atmosphere at the club and support for the manager, Kenny added: “It’s very good to be fair.
"He’s come in and he’s done an unreal job there, up the top and they won the trophy about a month ago.
“He’s good, he’s very good. On the pitch, I haven’t been with him yet if I’m being honest, but off the pitch he helps me.
"He’s told me that if I stick at it then I’ll get my rewards and he’s been great to bring me to the club. I think everyone’s behind him.”
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
