FILIP HELANDER has been spotted wearing a moonboot in the aftermath of Rangers' win over St Mirren.

The Swedish defender was a first-half casualty in the 4-0 victory.

The centre-back appeared to fall awkwardly following an aerial battle with Eamonn Brophy.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst subbed the defender off immediately, replacing him with youngster Leon King.

He was the second injury concern of the game, with John Lundstram going off feeling his groin earlier in the match.

Following the game - which was wrapped up by a Kemar Roofe hat-trick and a Joe Aribo stunner - van Bronckhorst confirmed that Helander had been sent for a scan, with the Gers medical team aiming to get more information on the type of injury sustained.

And the big defender has since been spotted at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

The Rangers star could be seen on crutches wearing a moonboot.

The Swede is not in the club's Europa League squad, so would not feature in the return leg versus Braga on Thursday anyway.

However, with a big Scottish Cup semi-final clash against Celtic on the horizon next Sunday, van Bronckhorst will be hoping the injury is nothing too serious.
