RANGERS defender Connor Goldson put an end to speculation over his future on Wednesday afternoon as the centre-half signed a bumper four-year contract extension - and he insists the decision was made because he loves the winning feeling at Ibrox.
The 29-year-old has been a mainstay at the back since arriving in 2018, missing only a handful of matches in those four years. He was there as Rangers regained their Premiership crown last term, he was there as the club won their first Scottish Cup title in over a decade and he was there as Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men fell agonisingly short in the Europa League final.
The former Brighton man has been a huge figure in Rangers' rise over the last few years and supporters were thrilled when the extension was announced on social media at lunchtime.
Some were worried that Goldson would be on his way out of Ibrox but the man himself insists he is comfortable at the Premiership club.
"Everybody knows I had a decision to make," Goldson told Rangers TV.
"I went away with my family last week and we made the decision to stay here. We're all settled here.
"My family's settled here and football-wise I'm happy. I just thought this was the right decision to make.
"I've got used to winning games most weeks and I love that feeling. I want to keep on winning and I want to keep on trying to take this club to the next level.
"I said last year I wanted to stay and try and win [title number] 56 and 57, and that was a massive part of me committing to this football club.
"I spoke to [sporting director] Ross Wilson and the manager yesterday and said I wanted to do it.
"I want to stay here and try and win - that's the main reason for me staying."
