CELTIC have released central midfielder Luca Connell, according to reports.

The 21-year-old, who arrived from Bolton Wanderers in a deal worth around £350,000 in 2019, has spent the last 18 months on loan at Queen's Park, playing an important role as the Spiders have sealed back-to-back promotions.

The Parkhead club had an option to extend the Republic of Ireland Under-21 internationalist's deal by another year but have opted against exercising it, according to the Scottish Daily Express.

Connell has never made a competitive first-team appearance at Celtic and the Express report that there is interest in the defensive midfielder from either side of the border.
