CELTIC legend John Hartson is enjoying the off-season with a trip to Ireland where he met up with MMA star Conor McGregor.

The Parkhead hero is enjoying a break from punditry duties over the summer and took time to meet McGregor for a meal in Dublin.

Former two-division UFC champion McGregor has spoken publicly of his support of Celtic, so was thrilled to meet up with Hartson at his bar and restaurant.

The pair caught up at McGregor's The Black Forge Inn venue where Hartson enjoyed a steak meal.

But, in a clip shared by McGregor on Twitter, Hartson appeared a little caught out when huge flames came from his steak as it was cooked in style at the table.

Posting the video, McGregor wrote: "The@CelticFC legend himself, Mr. @JohnHartson10  in enjoying the finest food and drinks Ireland has to offer at The @blackforgeinn"

The dinner with Hoops hero Hartson comes just months after McGregor claimed he was interested in purchasing Celtic.

In March, he explained: "I do not speak in jest. I am exploring this, as I said.

"Celtic from Dermot Desmond, Manchester United from the Glaziers, and now the recently up for sale Chelsea football club.

"All being explored. A football franchise purchase is in my future make no mistake about it."
