KILMARNOCK have snapped up striker Christian Doidge.

The Welshman joins the Ayrshire side on a season-long loan from Hibs.

The 30-year-old found himself down the pecking order at Easter Road.

Now, Derek McInnes has bolstered his frontline by adding Doidge to Killie's ranks.

He won't be able to face parent club Hibs on Saturday.

A Kilmarnock statement reads: "Kilmarnock FC are delighted to announce the signing of Christian Doidge on a season-long loan from Hibernian

"The 30 year old arrives at Rugby Park on a loan deal until the end of the season, providing strong premiership experience and an eye for goal, having netted 37 times during his time at Hibernian

"The Welsh striker started his playing career in the second tier of Welsh football before earning a move to the first division and winning the Welsh League cup with Carmarthen.

"Following his success in Wales, Christian made the switch to English football, making his way through the divisions across several clubs, and after a successful period at Forest Green Rovers and a loan spell at Bolton, signed for Hibernian.

"Joining Hibs in 2019, playing a key role in each season since, finishing 3rd with the club and reaching the Scottish cup final in 2020-21.

"Christian now looks to continue his scoring ways in the blue and white of Killie for the season ahead."
