MIKEY JOHNSTON has sealed an exit from Celtic.

The winger has joined Vitoria Guimaraes on loan until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old travelled out to Portugal yesterday to finalise the switch.

Johnston has also signed a one-year Celtic contract extension, showing the club are keen to see his progress.

The youngster burst on the scene several years ago, making a flying start to his Celtic career.

He's endured a difficult time with injury though and has since really struggled for game time.

Ange Postecoglou was desperate to see him get a loan move to aid in his development.

And Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes have won the battle to sign Johnston for the 22/23 campaign.
