Confident Hearts boss Robbie Neilson is targeting three points at Tynecastle on Saturday and leapfrogging opponents Rangers in the league.

The Jambos manager feels his team is well prepared for the number of fixtures they will be playing over the next six weeks.

As well as plying their trade in the Scottish Premiership, the Edinburgh side also has to contend with games in the UEFA Conference League.

However, the 42-year-old has maintained his team wants to be competing at home and abroad.

And positive thinking Neilson views the clash with last season's Europa League finalists as an opportunity for his team to go second in the table.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "We have been waiting for the game for a few weeks now because of the international break.

"We are really looking forward to the match, it is an opportunity for us.

"We are three points behind them (Rangers), and if we get a result, we can go ahead of them.

"It is a massive game for us.

"We take everything game by game, but when we are playing at Tynecastle, we expect to win every game, and it is no different on Saturday.

"There is no doubt we are playing against a very good team with international players.

"They also have this wee break like ourselves to prepare for the game."

The former Hearts captain was also asked about how his squad is adjusting to playing in Europe and the league back to back.

He feels it is a good challenge for his players and that is good for fostering a 'big club' mentality.

"I am delighted with the progress. It is different to what we are used to," he continued.

"We would usually have Saturday to Saturday preps, but because of these European games, it is a Thursday to Sunday.

"That is what we want to do. We want to be a big club and play on the biggest stage, so we have to cope with that.

"There is, of course, a mental aspect to coping with this as we have to remove ourselves from the high of playing midweek to then moving to get a result on the Sunday.

"This little six-week period of the season will be really important for us as we have a number of European games and the league campaign in which we have to stay strong."
