ANGE POSTECOGLOU says that even the opposition now know that Celtic will not yield when faced with adversity, as he praised his players for once again hitting back after a setback in falling behind to Ross County.

County took the lead at Celtic Park just after the break as David Cancola converted a penalty, but just as they did last weekend after Dundee United’s late equaliser, Celtic regrouped and hit back through goals from David Turnbull and Sead Haksabanovic, ensuring that the champions would take a nine-point lead into the World Cup break.

“You can sense it even with our supporters now,” Postecoglou said. “No one panics.

“The players know what they need to do and they really believe in themselves. I think the opposition sense it as well that we are not going to yield at any point.

“I am pretty fortunate. I have a fantastic group of players with real quality and outstanding character. It is outstanding they continue to rise to every challenge.”

Postecoglou’s team have now won 14 out of 15 Premiership matches this season, a feat the Celtic manager feels is all the more impressive given their hectic schedule.

“Where we are in terms of points in relation to other clubs is not the important bit,” he said.

“It is how we are performing and how we are dealing with things, the challenges.

“It has been a really strong start to the season, but we are less than halfway through and there is a lot of football to be played.

“We are going to see a lot of growth when the league resumes in our players after what they have been through.

“I just think this period, we’re going to see a lot of growth in our players when the league resumes, after what they’ve been through. Matty (O’Riley) and Reo (Hatate) have pretty much played every game.

“When Cal (McGregor) went down those were big shoes to fill; an influential figure, an outstanding footballer. Those two are relatively young guys and they’ve done that.

“They will come out of this much better footballers. When we come back the schedule, even though it’s busy, is nowhere near as hectic.

“And we’re going to see the benefits of that.”
