Hibs talisman Martin Boyle's prospects of participating in the World Cup remains in the balance.

The Easter Road winger is a major injury doubt ahead of Australia's opening game against France next Tuesday.

He is part of a 13-strong Scottish-based contingent in the Aussie squad for the tournament in Qatar.

Boyle has joined up with his Australia teammates - however, it remains to be seen whether he will feature in any of the games.

He is recovering from a knee injury picked up while playing for Hibs.

Melbourne City midfielder Marco Tilio has joined Graham Arnold’s 26-man squad in Qatar as a potential replacement.

Scottish-born Boyle has 19 caps for his adopted country.

Hearts star Cammy Devlin recently spoke of how much of a miss his international team-mate would be.

He said: “Over the years everyone can see what a big player he is.

"He does it week in, week out over in Scotland for Hibs."
