Aberdeen manager Jim Goodwin couldn't hide his dismay as his side slumped to heart-breaking last-gasp defeat at Pittodrie.

A late Callum McGregor shot from outside the box eventually blew apart a Dons defence that had shown itself to be dogged and determined for the previous 87 minutes.

And yet, it was no less than Celtic deserved after they continued to knock on the door and eventually they got their just rewards.

And while Goodwin was gutted to see his team suffer after putting so much into the afternoon's action, he couldn't dispute the result.

He told Sky: "There's an extreme disappointment as the overriding emotion today after conceding at the end, so late on having contained Celtic up to the 87th minute. We went with a game plan of denying Celtic space in behind, trying to frustrate them and hit on the counter-attack. I thought we did that for large periods of the game.

"There is a bit of disappointment that we didn't do enough with the ball when we had it but defensively the boys did everything I asked of them and they didn't get cut open a great deal. It's a 25-yard strike that's done us in the end.

"I can't stand here and say Celtic weren't the better side. They were and we knew they would be in terms of the quality they have in the team but if we had saw out those last three or four minutes it would have been a fantastic point. Unfortunately, we have nothing to show for it."
