Celtic are closing in on their third signing of the January transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that the announcement of the Parkhead club's latest arrival is "pretty close now".

The Hoops have already snapped up Yuki Kobayashi and Alastair Johnston ahead of the winter window.

Both players will officially join the club on January 1, when their registration begins.

Now, Postecoglou has revealed that another incoming is on the way.

Speaking ahead of tonight's match against Livingston, the Australian admits a deal is close.

He said: “We’re getting pretty close now.

“I know Michael and Chris want to spend some time with their families at Christmas.

“We’re working on things. There are still a couple that we are kind of investigating at the moment.

“We will see how things transpire over the next  week or so. We’re not even into January yet so there is still a bit of time.”

Postecoglou could again look at the Asian market given his success rate to date.

He added: “It’s not like I’m finding secret areas that no-one knows about.

“People know Japanese football or football in Asia or America or South America.

“I just think, for us, it’s about being really smart about our recruiting and where we can get deals done.

“And attracting players we believe will fit in  well with what we have done here and the culture we have here.

“It is a credit to the club that we can bring all those nationalities.

“Whenever you  bring in people from the other side of the world, irrespective of where they come from, there is a duty of care there.

“We have worked really hard on that at the club. We have resourced the areas of player support on and off the field so that they are comfortable and there is a really good environment."
