Ross County have confirmed their first January signing with Nohan Kenneh joining the club on loan from Hibernian for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.

Malky Mackay has bolstered his midfield options with the arrival of Kenneh, as he looks to guide his side off the foot of the Premiership table.

Spending a large part of his youth career with Leeds United, Kenneh would eventually break into the first-team environment at Elland Road under both Marco Bielsa & Jesse Marsch.

His earlier performances for Leeds United at youth levels resulted in call-ups and performances for England at U16, U17 and U18 levels.

Originally born in Liberia, Kenneh moved to Hibs in the summer of 2022 and made 15 appearances for the Easter Road outfit in the first half of the cinch Premiership campaign.

On the signing, manager Mackay said: “Nohan was a player we had tracked previously and really enjoyed what he had offered in his youth days at Leeds United. He has already shown this season he has the ability and appetite to cope with the demands of the Scottish Premiership which is vitally important.

“He has a good opportunity to come here and continue his development. He also has an opportunity to play his part in the second half of the campaign and I am sure he will no doubt show us the capabilities he has in the coming weeks and months ahead.”

On the loan move, Hibs boss Lee Johnson commented: “In Nohan’s break-through season, he’s already made a considerable number of appearances.

“We believe this is the best move for him in the short and medium term to get starts and to continue his positive development.

“I will personally keep a very close eye on his performance at Ross County and will continue to communicate with him regarding his personal development plan.

“We look forward to seeing how this loan spell has benefitted him when he comes back in the summer.”
