Aaron Mooy insisted Celtic can still "improve" despite beating Morton 5-0 in the Scottish Cup fourth round.

The Australian scored twice as Ange Postecoglou's men swept aside their Championship opponents.

And the 32-year-old was keen to stress that the Scottish champions still have areas to work on.

"I am part of the team and when I play I try to help the team," he said. 'It was a good performance from everyone and it was a nice way to end the week.

"You can always improve and get better and get fitter. I feel good and feel like I can help by working hard and getting better."

The result puts Celtic in the hat for the fifth-round draw as they look to win the competition for the first time in three years.

After a controversial Efe Ambrose handball led to the hosts being awarded a penalty, Mooy converted from the spot to give his team the lead.

A double from Kyogo Furuhashi and a clinical strike by David Turnbull saw Celtic go into the break 4-0 up.

While the second half was a more plodding affair Mooy managed to get on the scoresheet again to round off a comfortable afternoon for the hosts.

His performance led to him winning the broadcasters player of the match award but the Australian was keen to maintain that the result was a team effort.

He told BBC Scotland: "It is about the team, it is not about me. "I am part of the team and when I play I try to help the team.

"It was a good performance from everyone and it was a nice way to end the week.

"I waited a long time [ to take the penalty] and the longer it went on the more chance it would be given as a penalty.

"I was trying to think about what side I was going to go to but I didn't decide until the end. I was happy the keeper went the wrong way. "
