Hibs striker Kevin Nisbet's proposed move to Millwall is off.

The English Championship side had followed up an initial interest in Nisbet with an improved offer that would have seen Hibs receive over £2m for the Scotland international.

However, despite a fee being agreed, and the forward travelling down south to complete the move, the deal was not followed through.

A statement from Nisbet’s representatives Quanic Sports read: “Kevin has thought long and hard about moving right now and was unsure about the move at this time.

“Kevin’s focus remains on Hibs at the moment.”

Easter Road boss Lee Johnson previously revealed Nisbet was not training with Hibernian.

He said: "They [Nisbet and Ryan Porteous] are not in the building today, obviously there’s been bids come in from Watford and Millwall respectively, they are down talking to them."

Meanwhile, Watford manager Slaven Bilic has confirmed that Hibernian defender Ryan Porteous has signed for the English Championship side.

The Scotland international's contract at Easter Road was up at the season and it was confirmed last year that he would not be signing an extension.

Now Bilic has announced that the deal to bring the 23-year-old south of the border has been completed

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of his side's game against Middlesbrough, he said: "He's [Porteous] signed - it's a done deal.

"[He's] a young player and in the short-term, I call it cosmetic change which is very important in our situation.

"He's a homegrown player and we got Ryan, which is good for refreshing the squad. He played on a good level in the Scottish league in a good club in the Scottish league.

"Now it's down to him to train good and deserve the chance."
