Martin Boyle has detailed when he expects to make a return to Hibs action following his long-term injury.

The Australia international was ruled out for the season back in October after he sustained a serious knee injury against St Mirren.

As well as ruling him out for the season, the 29-year-old's World Cup dream was also ruined as a result.

The attacker's rehabilitation is going well and it's expected that he will be back in time for the start of next season.

Lee Johnson was happy for his star man to meet up with international teammates recently for a change of scene.

Boyle stopped off in Qatar for medical tests where it was revealed he was making good progress.

And the Easter Road fans' favourite hopes he'll be back in time for next season's Premiership curtain-raiser.

He said: "The recovery's going well. I'm a bit frustrated, going round in circles at the moment, but I'm keeping the right mindset, focused on where I want to be.

"I'm making little goals. I don't want to say them out loud, I don't want any setbacks. But it's going well and I'll hopefully be back soon.

"The physio team and staff are happy with my progress. I'm setting little goals but I don't want to set long-term targets. But I want to be on track for the start of the season."

Meanwhile, Galatasaray could enter the race to sign Hibernian striker Kevin Nisbet after watching him hit the winner in the Edinburgh derby on Saturday.

The striker netted the only goal of the encounter to end a nine-game winless run against Hearts and ease the pressure on boss Lee Johnson.

A host of Championship sides were present in Leith to watch Nisbet in action as Hibs prepare to cash in on their prized asset during the summer transfer window.

Nisbet opted not to make the move to Millwall in January but the Lions were one of several second tier clubs - including promotion chasing Sheffield United and Middlesbrough - that were keeping tabs on the 26-year-old at the weekend.
