Celtic striker Oh Hyeon-gyu faces a spell on the sidelines through injury.

Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that the young forward could be out for "a few weeks".

The South Korean has been playing through the pain barrier with the knock.

Now that it has been properly assessed, the 22-year-old will be given the correct length of time to recover.

Since his arrival in January under Ange Postecoglou, the striker has been used as a backup to Kyogo. He was an unused sub against Ross County at the weekend.

Now, speaking to Sky Sports, boss Rodgers has announced that Oh will be out of action for upcoming games.

Asked about any fitness issues, the ex-Liverpool gaffer said: "Oh picked up a bit of a knock so he'll probably be out for a few weeks.

"He didn't recognise he had it and played through it for a few days, but there's a slight problem with his calf.

"Some other players are coming back through their rehab but they're not quite ready yet."

Meanwhile, Carl Starfelt is set to undergo a medical ahead of his switch to Celta Vigo.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has today confirmed that the defender is on his way to Spain.

The Swedish defender last week made it clear that he saw his future away from the Scottish champions.

And it would appear a deal between the Hoops and the La Liga outfit will go through sooner rather than later.
