There was mixed fortunes for the Scots in round one of the British Snooker Open in Leicester.

Four-time world champion, John Higgins, eased through his opening match, defeating Zehuang Long from China 4-1 while Scott Donaldson defeated his compatriot and newcomer on the tour, Liam Graham, 4-0.

However Anthony McGill lost out 4-1 to Mark Allen and Stephen Maguire was defeated 4-2 by Mark Williams.

The biggest upsets of the opening round were the defeats of former world champions, Judd Trump and Neil Robertson by Hammad Miah and Si Jiahui respectively.
