Aberdeen boss Barry Robson is not planning any major January transfer activity because he feels he already has a strong squad at his disposal.

The Dons are happy with the work they did in the summer window and do not anticipate many new arrivals next month.

“If we can strengthen an area that we want to strengthen in, we will look at that,” Robson said on Thursday.

“If not, we did a lot of business in the summer and that was the main bulk of business we needed to do. We took in some good players.

“There are things we will look at but we are not having to scramble about and having to go and sign a lot of players because we don’t want to go through what we did in the summer.

“We made sure we got the bulk of our business done then but if there is quality out there, we are always looking. We have scouts and recruitment guys out there in the background always looking at areas that we can improve on.”

Robson reiterated that he does not expect top-scorer Bojan Miovski – whose future has been the subject of recent speculation – to be sold next month.

“Bojan enjoys playing here,” said the manager. “The way we try and play suits him and I think he has really improved as a player over the last year.

“He is in a good place in his career right now. Selling him is not something we want to do.

“We want to keep a hold of him for as long as we can. I still think he has a lot of improvement in him and can go on and bang a lot more goals in in the second half of the season here.”

Aberdeen – who were involved in the Europa Conference League group stage this season – are eighth in the cinch Premiership but have as many as four games in hand on some teams after their last two matches against Dundee and Motherwell were postponed.

“We’re trying to build a bit of momentum and trying to get our third win in a row in the league so it’s frustrating for us,” said Robson.

“We’ve had a real fixture backlog with the European stuff as well. It will be a busy second half of the season but that’s alright.

“We want to play games, we’ve played lots of them, and we’ll just have to do that again in the second half of the season. There are dates out there later in the year that we can get the games in.”
