Derek Adams has warned any clubs interested in Yan Dhanda will not get him on the cheap this month.

The 25-year-old has been a standout performer since joining Ross County 18 months ago.

The former Liverpool youth product has caught the eye of various clubs north and south of the border, especially with his contract due to expire this summer.

Heart of Midlothian are interested in a pre-contract deal to bring him to Tynecastle, as Steven Naismith looks to bolster his attacking ranks.

While Dhanda is free to speak to any interested parties about a pre-contract at this stage, Adams insists the Staggies haven't given up hope of convincing him to stay put in the Highlands.

And if he were to be enticed away this month, then it would cost the buying a club a pretty penny.

Asked about the possibility of losing Dhanda in January, Adams said: "That depends on a multitude of things.

"In this window, we have had no offers for him. We want to keep him, and we will keep him in this transfer window unless someone pays money that we think is acceptable."

Meanwhile, Robert Snodgrass has confirmed his retirement from football following a 20-year career on the pitch.

The former Scotland international most recently played with Hearts, but he also enjoyed spells at some top clubs including Leeds United, Norwich City, West Ham, Hull City and Luton Town.

Snodgrass was capped 28 times for Scotland and on his retirement, he explained on social media: "After 20 years of playing professional football, I have officially retired and decided to call it a day and hang up my boots.

"A little lad from the east end of Glasgow got to live his childhood dream for 20 years playing at 10 great clubs, meeting amazing people, and building relationships with staff and people around those clubs."
