Philippe Clement hinted Rangers are not finished with their transfer business this month.

The Ibrox boss revealed he is hopeful of landing "a few transfers" before the window closes at the end of January.

Quizzed on the appetite from his players to succeed in the Scottish Cup - after triumph in the Viaplay Cup - Clement said: "The appetite was there before already because otherwise you don't win the league cup. The appetite was there, it was also 11 or 12 years ago that Rangers won that cup.

"Every game is important and I want really ambitious players. If they show me ambition they will get chances, they know.

"I see a squad that is pushing every day to be in the starting 11 and we need to continue in that way with a few transfers the next couple of days or the next few weeks and then we want to challenge everybody."

However, when pushed on transfer business potentially ramping up - after the 4-1 win over Dumbarton - Clement was coy as he stated: "We will see, we are working hard on that."

Clement also reiterated his desire to reward players pushing for a spot in the first team as he insisted he doesn't hand out opportunities without reason.

Ahead of kick-off Clement had stated Robby McCrorie's start was not in order to rest Jack Butland but rather reward McCrorie for his efforts in training.

On a crucial stop from McCrorie in the first half, Clement said: "That's why he is there and that's why we also give him the confidence because he has shown good things in training.

"I don't give chances to give chances, it's people who push for it who get chances. That's why it was important that he could get this experience."
