Kilmarnock are set to win the race to sign Kevin van Veen.

The FC Groningen is looking to return to Scotland following a frustrating six months in his homeland.

Motherwell and St Mirren are also interested in signing the 32-year-old, however, it's understood the frontman favours a switch to Ayrshire.

The Rugby Park side are trying to get the deal over the line before tonight's 11.30pm deadline, with all of the relevant paperwork to be taken care of.

If the move goes through he will go straight into Derek McInnes' squad for Killie's next match which just so happens to be at Fir Park, where he was once heralded as a hero.

Adam Devine will not be joining Killie today, though. Motherwell appears to be the likely destination for the young Rangers full-back.

More to follow.
