Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes is delighted that “influential” midfielder Rory McKenzie has signed a one-year contract extension.

The 30-year-old is closing in on 400 appearances for Killie, where he has played since emerging through the youth academy.

McInnes told the club’s official website: “We are delighted that Rory has signed a new deal, he is such a valued member of this squad and brings so much to the club.

“He has a big part to play here and I know that he can be so influential for us this season and beyond.”

McKenzie, who made his Killie debut 13 years ago, said: “I am delighted to extend my stay at Kilmarnock, signing a new deal was a no-brainer for me.

“This has been a great season so far, hopefully we can make it one to remember for everyone involved with the club.”
