Georgie Gent acknowledges Motherwell must win their next two matches to have any chance of making the Scottish Premiership top-six - and believes that's exactly where they belong.
The Steelmen currently occupy eighth spot, and are six points behind Dundee, who they travel to face this weekend, with two games until the league split. They then host seventh-placed Hibernian, who are five points ahead.
Gent, 20, has impressed during his 24 appearances since joining on-loan from Blackburn Rovers. And he thinks it could come down to fine margins in previous meetings with the Dens Park club (1-1, 3-3) as he assessed Motherwell’s slim chances of dining at the Premiership’s top-table.
He said: “I think it’s where the club belongs, in the top six. We know what we have to do going into Dundee, it’s a must-win and against Hibs. End of, really.
“We have to get the wins and hopefully get into the top-six where Motherwell belong; it’s a massive club, they are a top-six club in my opinion so I’m going to try anything I can to get them there

“Our main concentration now is Dundee on Saturday. Take it game by game and try and get three points there and go from there.
“We know what they bring, they have been good this season. They’ve got some good players but we know what we have, we have some good players as well and we are going to go there fired up and hopefully get three points.
“We go into every training session knowing their strengths, knowing their weaknesses, where we can exploit them.
“We will regroup. We think we should have won in the end (against St Mirren) so we will take that and try to get three points at Dundee.”
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
