Motherwell starlet Lennon Miller has been dubbed "one of the best talent" manager Stuart Kettlewell has worked with.

Miller, 17, has been shortlisted for the PFA Scotland SPFL Young Player of the Year award along side Kilmarnock's David Watson, Lyall Cameron of Dundee, and Rangers winger Ross McCausland.

The Motherwell midfielder has played 28 times this season despite being sidelined for several months with a fractured kneecap.

"I know that his feet will still be firmly set on the ground, it’s just the lad he is," Kettlewell confessed when asked about Miller being recognised for his continued breakthrough after becoming Motherwell's youngest ever player, aged just 16 years and 6 days in August 2022.

“He will run with it and I’m sure he will put himself in a position where he tries to perform again this Saturday.

“I have not shied away from it, because of the nature of the person and the lad that he is, he is unquestionably one of the best, if not the best, talent that I have worked with.

“But not just from how you kick a football, how you behave and everything that you do.

“I just think he is a really exciting talent. If he was playing at one of the other clubs I would be waxing lyrical about him as well because I do get excited when you see really good footballers in Scotland.

“It’s brilliant for us all to market and sell the product and the brand in this country.

“I am absolutely delighted that I feel we have got one of the top guys at his age and somebody that I believe can go on and have a real, real good future in the game.

“Whatever level that comes at is obviously down to Lennon and sometimes a wee bit of luck as well – sometimes you need some of the breaks, staying fit and all these type of things.

“But he is an absolute pleasure to work with every single day.”
