A tourist has been slammed for "irresponsible and reckless" act which saw a golfer attempt to play an out of bounds golf shot from the pavement in St Andrews town centre.

The effort which is aimed towards the famous 18th hole, was made popular in 2022 when Australian golfer Harrison Crowe went viral for performing the trick shot - locally known as the “Dunvegan Shot” after the neighbouring hotel.

Now with another eager punter wanting in on the act, St Andrews Links Trust have discouraged anyone from repeating it after the latest footage was caught on camera and shared across social media.

They gave Bunkered the following statement on incident: “This is an irresponsible and reckless act which shows disregard for the safety of both public and property.

"This kind of behaviour is not welcome at the Home of Golf and we would discourage anyone from repeating it."
