Ross County's prolific striker Simon Murray is poised to join Scottish Premiership rivals Dundee in the coming days.

The two clubs have reportedly reached an agreement over an undisclosed six-figure transfer fee for the 32-year-old talisman.

Murray, who was the Staggies' top scorer last season with 23 goals, had a year remaining on his contract at the Global Energy Stadium. However, the experienced frontman was eager to pursue a new challenge this summer due to personal circumstances.

The move now is expected to be finalised after Dundee met County's valuation of the player.

This development comes shortly after the Dingwall-based side secured the signing of Ronan Hale from Cliftonville on Tuesday, potentially paving the way for Murray's departure.

While Ross County were keen to retain the services of their prized asset, the lure of a fresh start at Dens Park appears to have been too strong for the former Hibernian and Queen's Park forward.

Murray is from the Dundee area and previously spent a short spell at his local club in 2018.

Hibernian were also said to have been keen on reuniting with Murray but it appears his decision has been made.
