Aberdeen's pre-season friendly against Peterhead has been postponed over safety concerns.

Jimmy Thelin's side were scheduled to face the League Two club in a summer fixture this evening.

However, the match has been called off at Balmoor Stadium after Peterhead informed Aberdeen chiefs of "safety concerns at the stadium and surrounding area".

There has been continued heavy rainfall in the area surrounding the stadium leading to the match being postponed.

Supporters who have purchased tickets will be contacted by Peterhead regarding refunds.

However, the match will be played at an alternative venue, behind closed-doors.
