Stuart Armstrong reflected on a nostalgic moment as Ryan Gauld set him up for his inaugural goal with Vancouver Whitecaps.
The 32-year-old, who joined the Major League Soccer outfit at the beginning of September after being released by Southampton during the summer, found the net just two minutes after entering the match as a late substitute, contributing to the team's victory over San Jose Earthquakes in only his second outing for the club.
Gauld earned his first cap for Scotland against Poland earlier this month and continued his impressive form by notching his 13th assist of the MLS season, enabling his former Dundee United teammate Armstrong to score.
Armstrong expressed his delight at reliving their past partnership, reminiscing about their time together at Tannadice 11 years ago, before Gauld's eye-catching transfer to Sporting Lisbon.
"It was great to get my first goal but it was more important to get the win," Armstrong said.
"It's nice for me to play with Ryan Gauld again. He was very good at Dundee United and he's still very good so nothing has changed. It's fun to link up with him once more.

"Whenever you arrive somewhere new you want to do well and everyone has been so nice.
"It's taken me a bit of time to fit in and integrate myself into the tactics and hopefully I can push on now. My fitness is quite good."
Gauld also relished the link-up all those year's on as he praised Armstrong for making an immediate impact in North America.
"It's easy to play with good players and get an understanding," the 28-year-old midfielder, who was merited with a long overdue Scotland recall, commented.
"It's quite an easy group to fit into. You can see Stuart has hit the ground running."
