Motherwell starlet Lennon Miller is facing a lengthy spell on the sideline following an injury sustained against Rangers last time out.
The 18-year-old midfielder, who has been instrumental for manager Stuart Kettlewell's team over the last two seasons and even worn the captain's armband in the absence of Paul McGinn, is contracted to the Fir Park club until the summer of 2026.
Miller suffered an ankle fracture during the second half of the recent 2-2 draw against Rangers on December 29, after a tussle with Oscar Cortes.
Unfortunately, Kettlewell has confirmed that the extent of the injury is more severe than initially thought, leaving a significant gap in the squad as they navigate a busy fixture schedule.
"He's going to be longer than a month," Kettlewell told BBC Scotland before Motherwell's Scottish Premiership away clash at Heart of Midlothian.

"He's got a hairline fracture in his ankle which is going to keep him out for an extended period of time.
"He's done this twice now. With Lennon being Lennon he tried to stay on. Last season he had a fracture in his patella but tried to finish the game.
"But in getting that yellow card it looks like he's sustained a pretty significant injury which is going to keep him out somewhere around six to eight weeks."
